Scenario:
A pregnant woman in her second trimester lives in a rural community. SORMAS captures vaccination rates for influenza and COVID-19 in the region. However, pregnancy status is often under-reported, and specific data about maternal immunization uptake is missing.

Gender Considerations:

• Pregnant women may face vaccine hesitancy due to misinformation or lack of targeted health communication.
• Household responsibilities and mobility restrictions can limit access to vaccination centers.
• Failure to capture pregnancy data in surveillance systems leads to data gaps that hinder maternal health policy.

Recommended Strategy:

• Integrate and use the possibility to include pregnancy indicators into digital health records (SORMAS).
• Develop gender-sensitive dashboards showing immunization coverage in pregnant populations.
• Provide mobile vaccination units to reach women at home.
